Relish in the ancient arts and pulsating aliveness of my two loves: Cannabis and Erotica - brought to life through a multi-sensory photographic experience.

My intention behind this body of work is to both celebrate and revere the mystic frequencies of eroticism and cannabis - and the way these two badass medicines can call us into the most profound and transcendental states of being.

When we look at the intersection of erotica and marijuana, we can see that they have both been demonized, stigmatized, shamed, and condemned for millenia. Both have endured incarceration and still fight for legalization and the right to be celebrated as healing modalities.

It is my belief that the oppressive structures at play have been intentionally created to disconnect us from the power and boundless states of existence one can experience when choosing to work with Cannabis and Eroticism. Especially when working with them intentionally.

CANNAROTICA - A PHOTOGRAPHY SERIES

Cannabis; a psychedelic.  Weed, dope, ganja, green, dope, pot, grass, mary jane, doobies, bud.

Erotica; sex, porn, eros, making love, intimacy, art, sensuality, creativity, expression.

Because of this - I am obsessed with the time period that we are currently traversing through.  There is a palpable pendulum shift taking place that is calling us into deeper liberation. We are finally reclaiming choice and agency over our own bodies, and calling forth a greater sense of sovereignty world wide.

There aren't many of us that remain unscathed by the projected shame and dogma surrounding sexuality and drugs. Even in the most liberal of households, most of us got the general sense that even fantasizing about these things was prohibited. Perceived by wider society as ‘sinning’, it has mainly been religion creating social and spiritual belief systems that anyone succumbing to these reprehensible acts  will ‘‘go to hell’ or be ‘unclean’.

Ironically, it’s human nature to turn the taboo into the titillating - and flock towards the things that are most prohibited. Engaging in sex and drugs is an act of rebellion. A rebel is ‘a person who rises in opposition or armed resistance against an established government or leader’.

It is my belief that the reason we are so repressed from these pleasure seeking experiences - is because they empower people to connect with God. And I’m not even talking about God as some separate being who looks down on us. I believe the power of these dual psychedelic modalities is that they can actually support us in connecting with ourselves as ‘God’. From the trance state of stripping, posing nude to for life drawing or multiple mind blowing orgasms – erotic presence IS life force.

That - in itself - is an inherent threat to the power systems at play that profit off the collective psychosis of suffering and disconnection from the Sacred. I don’t know about you - but when I smoke and go into a flow state, I am with God. And it is the same when I experience a full-body orgasm. Yum! I LOVE BEING A REBEL.

For this reason, I believe that when experienced with openness, curiosity, and respect - both Cannabis and Eroticism are incredibly potent Spiritual Teachers. When working with these holistic medicines from a space of deep and intrinsic appreciation and honour - they can unlock intersecting plant/sex codes that hold deep, ancient resonance.

Knowledge of their undeniable potency can bring us closer to ourselves. These are not merely indulgences of physical matter - but rather, primordial frequencies made up of centuries of history, healings, stories and ritual.

It is from these mind, body, and soul-altering states of being - that we are able to experience life from a state of sensation and uninhibited aliveness. On a physical level, we ooze feelings of joy, euphoria, bliss and arousal. On an esoteric level - we receive feelings of spiritual connectedness, greater understanding of oneself within the universe, and realizations that both weed and erotic energy are an intrinsic part of nature. In fact - they ARE nature.
